2 Girls Killed, 4 Injured, Villagers Block Road, Vandalize Vehicles In Chhattisgarh Hit-and-run Case

In the Sarangarh-Bhilaigarh area of Chhattisgarh, two girls were murdered and four others were injured when a speeding dumper truck drove over them on Sunday, according to the police.

An official said that the tragedy happened this morning while the victims were heading to a pond for a bath at Bataupali hamlet on the Sarangarh-Saraipali route.

Following the event, people stopped the Saraipali-Raigarh highway and requested that the driver be punished and that the families of the children who died get compensation.

The protesters damaged several cars as well before being subdued by police and government representatives.

Details of the accident
According to him, a speeding vehicle drove over six Sidar family youngsters who were wandering along the side of the road before escaping.

Rakhi Sidar (10) suffered significant injuries and was sent to Raigarh Medical College for treatment, he claimed, while Kavita (10) and Anju Sidar (15) passed away.

The official said that three further girls had minor injuries and were treated prophylactically before being released from the hospital.

According to him, an investigation has been opened into the unnamed truck driver, and attempts are being made to find him.
