Five foreign terrorists were killed in a combined operation by the Army and police in the Kupwara area of Jammu & Kashmir.
“The incident resulted in the deaths of five foreign terrorists. A search effort is under progress, Vijay Kumar, the ADGP of Kashmir, informed reporters.
Earlier today, the Kashmir Zone Police claimed that in the early hours of Friday, there was a clash between security personnel and militants.
Officials verified that the region is now being searched.
According to reports, the confrontation started when security forces learned specifically that there were terrorists in the Jumagund region close to the LoC.
“An encounter is taking place between terrorists and a combined army and police party in the Jumagund sector of the Line of Control in the Kupwara district. Additional information will be provided, the Kashmir Zone Police said.
Two terrorists were killed by security personnel on June 13 in Kupwara, according to the police.
The information was tweeted by the Kashmir Zone Police. The incident, according to the authorities, took place near Dobanar Machhal.
“In a combined operation by the Army and the Kupwara Police in the Dobanar Machhal region (LoC) of the Kupwara district, two (02) terrorists have been neutralised. Still searching,” it tweeted.
