In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of northwest Pakistan, a landslide on Thursday claimed the lives of at least eight youngsters, according to authorities.
Nine to 14 youngsters were playing cricket before a large landslide buried them down in the Martung region of the Shangla district, according to Deputy Commissioner Hassan Abid.
According to Abid, the kids, who ranged in age from 12 to 14, were trapped beneath the landslide’s rubble, and one of them is still missing.
The search for the remaining youngster is in progress.
Teams from Rescue 1122 arrived to the scene to rescue the kids, and the Martunga rural health clinic and the Puran Tehsil Headquarters Hospital both declared emergencies.
Residents and heavy machinery both worked together to rescue the trapped people.
