In an alleged attack by their neighbours after a fight broke out here, a delivery executive was fatally stabbed and three of his family were hurt, police said on Sunday. According to them, the incident happened on Saturday night in the Anand Parbat neighbourhood in central Delhi. On his way home from work, 22-year-old Karan got into a fight with some neighbours in Prem Nagar about a trivial matter, and as a result, he was beaten with sticks. The police complaint claims that when his family members stepped in to stop the beating, they too were beaten.
According to a family member, the attackers stabbed Karan more than ten times throughout the altercation. After being transported to a hospital, Karan passed away from his wounds while receiving treatment, according to a senior police officer. Five suspects — Sonu (30), Shivam (22), Deepak (22), Jasvinder (20), and Pintu (18) — as well as a 17-year-old minor were reportedly detained by police in connection with the event.
According to the police, a case has been filed under Indian Criminal Code sections 302 (murder), 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), and 34 (common intention).
