Tuesday’s earthquake in Ladakh’s Kargil area had a magnitude of 4.7, according to the National Centre for Seismology.
According to representatives of the National Centre for Seismology, the tremor’s epicentre was 401 kilometres north of Kargil when it was first felt at 7.38 am.
According to the seismology centre, the earthquake in the Himalayan area, which is prone to earthquakes, occurred at a depth of 150 km and at 38.12 degrees latitude and 76.82 degrees longitude.
There were no reports of injuries or property damage, however.
