A Deal Between AIIMS Delhi And IREDA Is Intended To Use Solar Energy To Power The Hospital Campus

Share

The AIIMS Delhi and the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) have signed a contract to begin the technical evaluation of the hospital complex in preparation for its conversion to a solar-powered facility.

In order to do this, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) campus would be the subject of a techno-commercial review by the IREDA, according to a formal announcement. On Tuesday, a nine-kilowatt rooftop solar facility was officially opened at the AIIMS New Delhi campus. The AIIMS campus will be evaluated technologically and commercially by IREDA.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the evaluation will involve developing financial models, performing pre-feasibility studies, drafting a detailed project report (DPR), assisting in the analysis of technical and commercial aspects of project development, concluding commercial and contracting arrangements, and defining performance indicators.

With the aid of IREDA, the leading medical institution hopes to dramatically cut its energy costs by entering into this cooperation and constructing solar power projects, while also reducing its carbon impact.
