A Gujarati Man Was Arrested For Threatening Nitish Kumar, The CM Of Bihar

According to a police officer, a textile worker from Surat, Gujarat, was detained on Wednesday after reportedly threatening to blow up Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar.

Ankit Mishra, a native of Bihar who is in his late 20s, was apprehended in the city’s Laskana neighbourhood and turned over to the Bihar police for further investigation, according to Lalit Vagadiya, an inspector with the Surat crime section.

On March 20, a caller to the Patna-based news channel’s headquarters threatened to blow up Nitish Kumar, the state’s chief minister, within the next 36 hours. According to Vagadiya, a formal complaint was made in this respect to the Sachivalaya police station in Patna, the capital of Bihar.

“Technology monitoring by the Bihar police indicated that the call was placed from Surat, prompting Bihar police to ask Surat police for assistance in apprehending the offender. The caller, identified as Ankit Mishra, was eventually taken down by our team. The official said that he had been turned over to the Patna police.

Mishra is a native of Bihar and has been employed as a labourer in a powerloom factory in the city’s Laskana neighbourhood for the past six years, according to initial investigations by Surat police, said Vagadiya. He added that Bihar police will look into the matter to determine why he made the threat call.

The senior BJP leader’s house and office in Nagpur, Maharashtra, saw increased protection on Tuesday after a guy allegedly threatened to hurt him three times if he did not get Rs 10 crore, according to an official.
