According to authorities, a 43-year-old man from Maharashtra’s Palghar district reportedly murdered his live-in girlfriend after she reported him for rape.

According to them, the event happened between August 9 and August 12 and the victim, who was 28 years old, has not yet been discovered.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police for Vasai, Padmaja Bade, the suspect, who resides in Palghar’s Vasai neighborhood, was taken into custody on Tuesday.

According to a representative of the Naigaon police station, the victim’s relatives reported the missing person on August 14 and said that they believed the suspect had dumped the corpse in Gujarat’s neighboring Vapi town.

According to a preliminary investigation, the accused was upset that the victim had reported him for rape, which led to the filing of a criminal complaint against him, Bade added.

According to the official, the lady had refused to rescind the complaint, which is why the guy is accused of killing her.

Following a complaint from the victim’s sister, the Naigaon police filed a FIR against the suspects on Monday under Indian Penal Code Sections 201 (causing the disappearance of evidence) and 302 (murder).

The official said without going into more detail that the accused is also being investigated for aiding in a suicide that was reported against him at another police station in the Mira Bhayander-Vasai Virar police boundaries.
