According to Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Friday, the Kejriwal administration would undertake an anti-open burning campaign from May 15 to June 15 as part of the Summer Action Plan. He said that seven agencies would deploy 231 daytime patrolling teams and 186 nighttime patrolling teams as part of the anti-open burning operation. The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) have also been given directives for tight 24-hour surveillance of dump sites. Additionally, a standard operating method has been created to reduce fire occurrences at waste sites. This SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) has to be properly followed, according to instructions,” Rai stated. Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister, unveiled the revised action plan on May 1. With an emphasis on reducing dust pollution, it tries to tackle summertime air pollution. To reduce air pollution, the Delhi government already has a winter action plan. The winter action plan targets on emissions from vehicles, industry, and firework pollution.

According to a statement from the Mumbai Police, legendary former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar filed a complaint on Friday against the “unauthorized” use of his name, image, and voice in “misleading advertisements.”

An unnamed individual has been charged with violating sections 426, 465, and 500 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) by the Mumbai Police Cyber Cell. In the lawsuit, Sachin claimed that the adverts had been misused to deceive people into making online purchases of goods and services.

“At SRT Sports Management Pvt. Ltd. (SRTSM), we have seen efforts to unlawfully imitate Mr. Sachin Tendulkar’s characteristics in order to market goods and services that are unrelated to him. These actions are being taken with the purposeful and malign goal of duping naive consumers into purchasing illegal goods and services online, according to a statement from SRTSM.

The statement added, “We have filed an official complaint with the Cyber Cell section and have brought these to the attention of social media sites where such deceptive adverts are being disseminated.

The situation is the subject of an inquiry.
