On Thursday, Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh visited the drainage facilities close to Narsinghpur on National Highway 48, a day after three hours of rain saturated numerous roads and knocked the city out of gear.
Singh gave them instructions to take the essential actions for effective drainage management in the city at a combined meeting with the authorities of the district administration, Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GDMA), Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG), and Manesar
The Haryana government should receive a proposal for the flooded agricultural area between the villages of Daulatabad and Babupur, the Gurugram MP said, so that farmers might be paid for their losses as a result of the waterlogging
Rao said that farmers are losing money as a result of waterlogging. The district government should make allowances for them in such a case. District Commissioner (DC) Nishant Kumar Yadav recommended that the District Revenue Officer undertake a survey of the flooded region in order to promptly compensate the farmers
More pump sets with more capacity are being installed, according to MCG Commissioner P C Meena, to drain the wet regions. The municipal corporation, irrigation and water resources department, and national highway authority are all making additional drainage measures
