Following intense rains, a restaurant’s roof fell in Thane, Maharashtra, injuring three people, according to municipal authorities on Sunday. According to Yasin Tadvi, the head of the Thane Municipal Corporation’s Disaster Control Cell, the event happened late on Saturday night at the restaurant on Ghodbunder Road.
He claimed three people—two men, two women—were hurt and sent to a neighboring private hospital. The official said that 58.90 mm of rain fell on the city over the twelve hours that ended at 8.30 am on Sunday.
According to him, the city has received 139.76 mm of rain so far this year, as opposed to 172.71 mm at the same time last year. According to Thane district officials, several areas in Ulhasnagar township were also impacted by the heavy rain on Saturday.
According to prior reports, Saturday’s torrential rains in Thane and the nearby Palghar district caused water logging in numerous low-lying regions. People had to cross knee-deep water on Saturday night in a number of places in the Thane district, including Bhiwandi, Kalyan, and Badlapur.
