Air India’s flight to San Francisco landed in Russia has created an uproar from India to America. On Tuesday, Air India flight AI173 going from Delhi to San Francisco was diverted and landed in Magadan, Russia due to a technical fault in the engine. America is alert on the emergency landing and says that it is keeping an eye on the whole matter. But according to the news coming in, the passengers had to face a lot of inconveniences because of this. They have been forced to sleep on the ground.

It was claimed by Air India that all kinds of assistance is being provided to the passengers after the landing of the plane. It was said on behalf of the spokesperson that the flight would be provided with an alternative facility to reach the destination at the earliest. According to Air India, at present the investigation of the aircraft is going on and also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the passengers. But the truth of these claims is something else. Contrary to a statement by Air India, it appears that the passengers who were going to San Francisco after the emergency landing were not accommodated in a hotel in the Russian city of Magadan but in a dormitory.

A woman whose husband was on the flight shared her ordeal on Twitter. She wrote, ‘My husband is also on the flight. He told me how difficult this time is for the elderly.’ Along with this, she has also shared a photo. It is said that Magadan does not have a hotel with a capacity of 232 passengers and crew of Air India Boeing 777-200. While US officials are closely monitoring the situation, Air India is working hard to get a plane to Magadan. Magadan is a secluded place and experts say that it is difficult to have any facilities for more than 200 passengers.

America is keeping an eye on the situation

The US on Tuesday said it was closely monitoring the situation after an Air India flight bound for San Francisco made an emergency landing in Russia. US State Department Deputy Spokesman Vedant Patel said, ‘We are aware of an aircraft coming to the US that had to make an emergency landing in Russia. We are monitoring that situation closely. I am not able to tell how many US citizens were on board at this time.’ It is being told that there is also an American passenger on the plane but this has not been confirmed yet.
