Ajit Pawar, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, said on Monday that he would accept the Election Commission of India’s “final” judgment on the NCP’s name and election symbol in light of the arguments made by the groups he and Sharad Pawar headed.

In Pune, he was speaking to media before visiting many Lord Ganesh pandals, according to PTI.

According to the report, Ajit Pawar inspired eight MLAs to join the Shiv Sena-BJP coalition government in Maharashtra in July.

He lay claim to the party name and emblem in the ECI and asserted support from the majority of the NCP’s MLAs, which was formed by his uncle Sharad Pawar.

The Ajit Pawar group’s motion in the election body was contested by the Sharad Pawar faction, and a verdict is still pending.

When asked whether the Sharad Pawar camp would take action against MLAs who joined his group, Ajit Pawar said that they might use their rights.

But the ultimate decision-maker is the Elections Commission (EC). Everyone will present their position on the specified days once both sides have attended the ECI. He was cited as saying, “As far as I’m concerned, I’ll accept the ECI’s ultimate judgment.

When asked about the likelihood of the Maharashtra speaker disqualifying 16 Shiv Sena MLAs and the prospects of removing the chief minister, he said that all of these stories are meaningless.

Since the day Eknath Shinde was appointed chief minister (in June 2022), such rumors have circulated. All of these stories have no significance,” Ajit Pawar continued.
