Farooq Abdullah, the president of the National Conference (NC), denied on Monday that he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, the home minister, and other BJP leaders in secret during the night. Instead, he said that he may meet them in public during the day if he so chooses. Ghulam Nabi Azad was a veteran of the previous Congress.

In addition, Abdullah attacked the head of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), stating that for the public to know the truth, he ought to reveal the identities of his operatives who are at the homes of BJP leaders.

“Why should I meet them at night if I have to meet with PM Modi or Union Home Minister Amit Shah during the day?” stated Farooq Abdullah. For what reason has he considered discrediting Farooq Abdullah? I was the one who gave him a Rajya Sabha seat when no one else wanted to, but he is now claiming all of this. He ought to reveal the identities of his operatives who are seated at the Prime Minister’s and Union Home Minister’s homes. Abdullah told news agency ANI that he should tell them so that they may comprehend the truth.

The NC leader’s statements were made hours after Ghulam Nabi Azad asserted in an India Today interview that Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah met in private with Shah and Modi late at night.

Accusing the Abdullahs of being dishonest, he said that they “say one thing in Srinagar, another in Jammu, and something else in Delhi.”.

Later, Azad revised his statements, stating that he learned about this via media reporting and other sources and that he never stated that Abdullah had a meeting or appointment with the BJP leadership.

“I never stated that PM Modi and he (Farooq Abdullah) met,” I mentioned that he tries to meet with central leadership, but only at night, according to sources in Delhi. He told ANI, “I never said that he met or received an appointment.

According to Omar Abdullah, NC is in negotiations with the Congress to reach an agreement for three of the six Lok Sabha seats in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. He further highlighted that NC is a constituent of the opposition’s Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA).

Farooq Abdullah, in the meantime, declared that the party would run independent candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as well as potential assembly elections in the Union Territory.
