In Kharghar in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, Federal Home Minister Amit Shah will present spiritual leader and social activist Dattatreya Narayan alias Appasaheb Dharmadhikari with the Maharashtra Bhushan Award 2022.
On Saturday evening, senior BJP leader Shah landed in Mumbai for a two-day tour to Maharashtra.
The state administration anticipates a gathering of between 15 and 20 lakh people for the Maharashtra Bhushan award ceremony at the expansive Business Park in Kharghar.
Dharmadhikari, who has a large following in the state due to his tree planting campaigns, blood donation and medical camps, as well as de-addiction efforts in tribal regions, will receive the Maharashtra Bhushan award in the presence of Union minister Shah and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
In a previous official statement, the state government said that 250 water tankers, 2,100 taps, 69 ambulances, 350 medical personnel, 100 nurses, 32 mobile restrooms, 4,200 portable restrooms, and 9,000 temporary restrooms had all been positioned at the event site.
In the Kharghar to Insuli section of the Mumbai Goa Highway number 66, the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the Mumbai-Pune old highway, and the Ahmedabad-Mumbai highway, heavy vehicles like as dumpers, trucks, tankers, and multi-axle 16 tonne-plus trailers are not allowed on Saturday and Sunday.
According to a state government decree released on Friday, 15-20 lakh Dharmadhikari devotees are anticipated to travel by private cars, public buses, and trains from all across the state, including Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nashik, Mumbai, and Thane, to attend the ritual.
After the Shiv Sena-BJP coalition took office in 1995, the Maharashtra Bhushan award was established.
Prior to its expansion to include people in social work, media, public administration, and health services, it was first granted to celebrities in the disciplines of literature, athletics, and science.
After the award presentation, Shah will take a flight to Goa where he will meet with BJP officials to discuss organizational concerns before addressing a crowd in Farmagudi town, 30 kilometers from Panaji, to launch the party’s campaign in the coastal state ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“More than 25,000 people are anticipated to attend the event. Participants will include allies. The BJP’s Lok Sabha campaign in Goa will get off with this gathering, according to state BJP general secretary Narendra Sawaikar.
Sawaikar voiced assurance that the BJP will take both of Goa’s Lok Sabha seats.
