Top prizes were given out at the 2023 CEAT Cricket Rating (CCR) awards on Tuesday in Mumbai to Shubman Gill and Deepti Sharma. They received the distinctions of Men’s and Women’s International Cricketer of the Year.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was voted the T20 Bowler of the Year, and Surya Kumar Yadav the T20 Batsman of the Year. The award for domestic cricketer of the year went to Jalaj Saxena.
Also recognized as the ODI Batter of the Year was Gill.
Yuzvendra Chahal, who became the first Indian bowler to record 300 T20 wickets, Shafali Verma, who led her team to victory in the U-19 Women’s World Cup, and Brendon McCullum of the Bazball fame, who won best coach, were also recognized.
Madan Lal, a standout for India in the 1983 World Cup, and Karsan Ghavri, a left-arm seamer in the 1970s and 1980s, both received Lifetime Achievement Awards.
The CEAT Ratings Awards were in their 25th year.

Chief Adjudicator of the CEAT Cricket Ratings, the legendary Sunil Gavaskar, remarked, “The CEAT Cricket Rating has been a torchbearer to acknowledge and encourage exceptional talent in this beautiful sport. The prize winners this year serve as sports role models throughout the world, which can ideally motivate next generations with exceptional potential.
Shafali Verma, who was overjoyed, said, “CEAT has given women’s cricket a big platform to bloom. Seeing the results of our labors acknowledged on such a huge scale is really moving. And I’m certain that such efforts will only inspire young ladies to join the sport and develop their own identities.
As a cricketer, Gill stated, “It’s always about pushing limits, taking on obstacles head-on, and always developing to achieve new heights. This acknowledgement strengthens the connection between our dedication to excellence and motivates me to work even harder.
