After one of the helicopters crashed in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, the Army grounded the whole fleet of Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Dhruv, according to military sources.
A three-person ALH Dhruv crashed after a “hard landing” in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday.
The event resulted in the death of a technician and the injury of two pilots.
The ALH Dhruv fleet has been momentarily grounded as a precaution, according to the sources.
After two mishaps involving the platform, the Navy and Coast Guard both halted their respective ALH Dhruv fleets in March.
According to the sources, the ALH Dhruv helicopters used by the Navy and Coast Guard are undergoing technical inspections.
According to a source, the helicopters that passed the inspection procedure are currently in operation.
Around 70 ALH Dhruv are in service with the Indian Air Force.
