The Enforcement Directorate had detained Hemant Soren, the former chief minister of Jharkhand, the day before on suspicion of land fraud, but Mukti Morcha, the leader of Jharkhand, said he was not concerned about what the investigative agencies would do. Hemant Soren attacked the Bharatiya Janata-led Centre for using them to target him for “political objectives” in an interview with Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal for his “Dil Se” YouTube series before his ED arrest.
Tuesday’s interview was conducted in New Delhi. On Thursday, it was made available. Hemant Soren stated in the interview that attempts have been made to overthrow the JMM government in Jharkhand since its establishment.
Hemant Soren was detained by the ED for more than seven hours on suspicion of money laundering in connection with a purported land fraud case.
“The moment I formed the government, it faced challenges involving our main opposition members, but we overcame that,” Hemant Soren said to Sibal.

Hemant Soren made fun of the investigation agency by claiming that the ED has been corresponding with him since 2022 and has grown fond of him.
The JMM leader stated in the interview, “There is no name, there is no FIR, but the agency keeps trying to establish that ‘you have broken a law’.”
The ED move, according to the former chief minister of Jharkhand, was intended to psychologically abuse leaders who oppose the BJP and their families. “We (JMM) do politics on our own strength; we have stood on our own, and we will protect what we have built,” Hemant Soren stated.
Regarding the activities of investigation teams, the JMM chief stated he was growing accustomed to it all.
They are aware that they will experience issues if I work in the field. Threaten first, offer incentives later, and then resort to such measures… The former CM stated, “They are utilising other tactics when they could not win politically.
“They can continue aiming at me; I won’t mind. This doesn’t scare me at all. We went into politics of power because this is the only way we can help people,” Hemant Soren remarked.

Hemant Soren asserted that nothing is impossible in politics when questioned about the survival of the INDIA opposition coalition.
Hemant Soren, the head of the JMM, responded positively when Sibal inquired if his officers were also being targeted.
They’re threatening officials because they know they’re the ones who will carry out the execution. He said, “In my government, punishment is meted out for not doing the right thing, and no direction is given for doing wrong.”
Hemant Soren was transported to the ED office after he submitted his resignation as chief minister to Jharkhand governor CP Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi, shortly before he was arrested.
Today is Champai Soren’s oath-taking day.
On Friday, Champai Soren, a prominent member of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, is scheduled to take the oath of office as the state’s chief minister. Champai Soren was invited by Radhakrishnan to Raj Bhavan on Thursday in order to form the Jharkhand government. It has been required that Champai Soren, who is close to Hemant Soren, prove his majority in a floor test that will take place in ten days.
