Azaan Rang In Morning Prayer In Mumbai School, Teacher Suspended After Protest By Parents

Kapol International School in Kandivali (West), Mumbai, has created a ruckus on Friday due to the ringing of Azaan during the school prayer. The parents of the students and the Mumbai unit of the BJP also protested outside the school. Local BJP MLA Yogesh Sagar also reached outside the school and joined the protesting parents. In this case, the teacher who conducted the prayer has been blamed. Yogesh Sagar has accused the school of saving the teacher. Police said that a case has been registered in the matter and the teacher has been suspended.

DCP Ajay Kumar Bansal said, ‘Today a complaint was received in Kandivali that ‘Azaan’ was played during the morning prayer in a school. Police has accepted the complaint and investigation has started. The matter will be investigated from all angles. All necessary action will be taken. School Principal Dr. Reshma Hegde told that the teacher responsible for playing the azaan has been suspended. This is a Hindu school and our prayers include Gayatri Mantra and Saraswati Vandana. We want to assure that such incident will not be repeated in future.

The Mumbai unit of the BJP also tweeted about the protest outside the school. After the controversy over ‘Azaan’, all classes were dismissed due to protests outside the school. The parents said that they want action to be taken against the teacher behind the incident.
