Balasore Train Accident: PM Modi To Visit Accident Site, Will Meet The Injured In Cuttack Hospital

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Balasore in Odisha today. Apart from visiting the site of the train accident, he will also visit the hospital and meet those injured in the accident. According to the information received from the sources, since the news of the accident came late in the evening, PM Modi is taking information about the incident every moment.

Several coaches of Coromandel Express and SMVP-Howrah Superfast Express met with an accident in Balasore late on Friday evening. At least 288 people died and over 900 were injured in the tragic incident. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav visited the accident site on Saturday morning and announced that a high-level inquiry would be conducted into the accident and An independent investigation will be conducted by the Commissioner of Railway Safety.

South Eastern Railway informed that Train No. 12841 Shalimar-Chennai, Coromandel Express, and Train No. 12864 Sir M. Visvesvaraya-Howrah Superfast Express derailed near Bahanga Bazar Railway Station at around 6.55 pm on June 2.

The coaches of the Coromandel Express derailed and collided with trains parked on one side, while some overturned on the opposite rail track on which the SMVP-Howrah Superfast Express was coming from Yesvantpur and headed towards Howrah. SMVP-Howrah Superfast Express collided with overturned coaches and a major accident took place.
