Najmul Hossain Shanto, the interim captain of Bangladesh, won the toss and decided to bat against India in a World Cup game on Thursday.

Shakib Al Hasan, the game’s captain and star all-rounder, was unable to play because of a quad injury.

“Nasum is moving in to help Shakib, who is suffering a little. Against India, we have some amazing memories; let’s hope we keep it up. I really hope that works out well,” added Shanto.

Hasan Mahmud was added to the Bangladesh side in lieu of Taskin Ahmed while India kept its lineup the same.

Teams: India: Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (w).
