BJP To Question Opposition’s ‘Idea Of India’ In Parliament Over Bengal Violence, Delhi Ordinance, And Adani Row

Share

With a spring in its step, the opposition will attend the monsoon session of Parliament. It is certain that by giving their coalition the new moniker “INDIA,” it has struck gold. It also has a variety of problems at its disposal with which it intends to challenge the administration, including the violence in Manipur, abuse of the CBI and ED, and the Delhi ordinance.

However, a few topics might throw a shadow on the opposition’s unity and reveal its cracks.

VIOLENCE IN THE WEST BENGAL PANCHAYAT POLL

The Bharatiya Janata Party intends to demand a debate on the violence during the panchayat election as a response to opposition pressure on Manipur. And here is where the issue lies. While the BJP will focus on the Trinamool Congress in this topic, it will also closely monitor the Left and Congress, both of which have criticized the TMC at the state level. The two groups keep quiet about the matter in an effort to maintain opposition unity. Can they afford to do so in front of their own constituency in Parliament as well?

A DELHI ORDER

The Congress caved in to the Aam Aadmi Party and chose not to endorse the ordinance just before the opposition gathering in Bengaluru. Many Punjab and Delhi Congress officials were flinching as smiles began to spread.

Therefore, Punjab Congress MPs would be anxiously awaiting the ordinance’s passage into law in Parliament. According to a leader of the Congress, it would be better if our party chose to abstain in the worst-case situation. In any event, the odds favor the BJP, thus it will pass. However, publicly voting against it would be difficult since it would mean losing face for our state unit, which is opposing the state government.

ISSUE OF ADANI

According to sources, the Congress is eager to bring up this subject once again. The party wants to bring up a subject that is important to Rahul Gandhi while he is not there due of his exclusion from the House of Representatives. However, other opposition groups like the TMC, AAP, and Samajwadi Party are less enthusiastic since they believe this is a topic that the general population has little interest in.

However, when the opposition uncovers gaps in the BJP’s defenses, the latter expects that the concept of INDIA would help it get through these roadblocks.
