In order to narrow the nine-point gap between themselves and Barcelona at the top of La Liga, Real Madrid will not hold back against Barcelona in Sunday’s El Clasico at Camp Nou.
By defeating the champions for the third time in a row, Barcelona would make a significant progress towards capturing their first championship in four years.
“On Sunday, we’ll play offensive football. We will attack without taking chances, Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Real Madrid, said during a press conference on Saturday.
The squad has been performing well, and we are in a strong psychological position. Yet we’ve also made significant tactical and technological progress.
The second of three matchups in a little more than a month will occur on Sunday.
Real were defeated 1-0 in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final by a Barcelona team with a practical defensive game plan after losing 3-1 to their primary rivals in the Super Cup final.
This season, Barca has won 21 of their 25 league games.
