Amazon is now developing a large language model (LLM) to power Alexa that is considerably bigger and much more “generalised and capable,” which is going to quickly advance the objective of providing the finest personal assistant in the whole globe. This LLM is being inspired by the ChatGPT success.
ChatGPT is a fantastic example of an application that is being constructed, according to Andy Jassy, CEO of Amazon.
Some of those apps will be ones we develop ourselves. Thus, he said during the company’s quarterly earnings call, “we believe one of the most compelling applications that will be built in generative AI have to do with making developers much more effective with coding assistance.
“I think there’s a significant business model underneath it,” he said.
In the last several months, generative AI models have expanded and improved far more swiftly. It actually offers a great chance to improve almost all current and many future client experiences.
“We have a very large investment across the company, and we have been investing in building our own large language models for several years,” added Jassy.
The business offers more than 25 machine learning services on AWS, “where we have by a fair amount the broadest machine learning functionality and customer base.”

The business in AWS has been constructing specialised machine learning chips for a number of years.
