On Monday, the cost of gasoline and diesel in India stayed almost unchanged after nearly a year of stability. State-to-state variations in gasoline costs are caused by municipal levies, the Value Added Tax (VAT), and freight costs.
Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata had no change in the price of gasoline or diesel in the previous day, while other cities saw a minor increase or decrease.
In Delhi, a litre of gasoline costs 96.72 rupees, while a litre of diesel costs 89.62 rupees. Petrol costs 106.31 per litre in Mumbai. In the financial capital, a liter of fuel costs 94.27. Kolkata’s prices for gasoline and diesel are 106.03 and 92.76 rupees a litre, respectively.
However, the price of a litre of gasoline and diesel in Noida has decreased by 23 and 22 cents, respectively, and is now 96.53 and 89.71 correspondingly. The price of gasoline increased in Gurugram by 9 paise to 97.10 per liter, while the price of diesel increased by 8 paise to 89.96 per litre, according to the most recent price announcement from oil marketing organizations.
DIESEL (Rs/LITRE) CITY PETROL (Rs/LITRE)

HYDERABAD ₹109.66 ₹97.82
JAIPUR ₹108.08 ₹93.36

If there are any adjustments, the gasoline price is revised each day at 6 a.m. by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), India Oil Corporation (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) based on external benchmarks and currency rates.
On Monday, oil prices declined as worries about fuel consumption in the world’s two largest oil users, the U.S. and China, outweighed hopes for tighter supplies as a result of any OPEC supply cutbacks and a restart of U.S. purchases for reserves.
Last week, both benchmarks saw their longest run of weekly drops since September 2022, falling for a fourth straight week. The reason for this was worries that the United States may experience a recession due to the “significant risk” of a historic default during the first two weeks of June.
