Holding the government accountable does not equate to criticising the country, according to the Congress, which said on Tuesday that the BJP, which is currently in power, is only a renter and not the owner of democracy.
Pawan Khera, the spokesman for the Congress and head of the party’s media and publicity division, also said that the BJP was using “theatrics” and “drama” to distract the nation’s attention away from the Adani problem.
In response to the BJP’s assault on Rahul Gandhi as “Mir Jafar,” he stated the party will be remembered as “Jai Chands” and said that its ideological forebears were well-known British apologists.
A frightened BJP is attempting to stage fresh dramas to deflect attention from the Adani problem, Khera told reporters, and Rahul Gandhi is seeking explanations from the prime minister over the actions of his buddy.
He described these government acts as theatre.
Noting that Amit Shah and the “Shehanshah” are aware that Gandhi would not apologise, I find it saddening that BJP spokespersons disturb you in the morning without prior notice.
It is regrettable that those who offered an apology to the British and those who stuck by London and accepted pensions from the British Viceroy are now lecturing us on patriotism.
Criticizing the government’s actions does not constitute criticism of the whole nation. The BJP has to realise that the government exists for the benefit of the nation, not the other way around,” Khera remarked.
According to him, democracy will only be enhanced if conversations about its status continue, and undermined if they do not. “We want conversations,”
“I have a recommendation for Shah and Shehanshah: remember that you are only democratic renters, not landlords—the people. Please refrain from attempting to become landlords and stay as renters.
He said, “We demand that the Prime Minister, the Home Minister, and the whole Cabinet start thinking about democracy and not about their buddy.
He questioned why the government was avoiding launching a JPC investigation into the Adani scandal and said that even the name of Adani mentioned by Congress leaders is removed from legislative records.
“We would want to know why a JPC has not been established.
“Do not explain why they will be referred to as Jai Chands if you want to become the Jai Chand of democracy. We implore you to consider your nation rather than your buddy, Khera said, noting that these individuals, whose ideological forebears have traditionally been recognised as the defenders of the British, are now lecturing us on patriotism. This is ironic.
The BJP is seeking an apology from Gandhi for his comments about “democracy under danger” that he made in London, while the Congress and other opposition parties have been demanding a JPC into the Adani problem.
Due to the obstruction, Parliament has been unable to work for the past few days, ever since the second part of the budget session began on March 13.
