A gas cylinder burst in a room at a building site in Thane, Maharashtra, causing a fire that resulted in minor burn injuries to one worker, a municipal official said on Tuesday.
According to Thane Municipal Corporation’s regional disaster management cell (RDMC) chairman Avinash Sawant, the event, which happened on Monday at approximately 9.30 p.m. in the Kapurbawdi neighbourhood on Ghodbunder Road, also damaged four employee rooms.
He said that one of the four tiny household gas cylinders that were present in the rooms burst, igniting the fire. The official said that a worker was hurt and was taken to a nearby hospital where he was receiving treatment. Local firefighters and the RDMC team responded quickly to the alarm and extinguished the fire within an hour, according to him.
