Cyclone Biparjoy Moving Towards Jakhau Port Of Gujarat, Landfall By Today Evening; High Alert In Coastal Areas

Cyclone Biparjoy is slowly moving towards Saurashtra and Kutch. It is at a distance of about 180 km from the Jakhau port of Gujarat. It is expected to hit the coast by this evening. This storm has taken a very serious form. The wind speed at the time of landfall can be 140 kmph. At the same time, the coastal areas are on high alert regarding this storm.

Cyclone is moving at a speed of 6 km per hour

The storm is moving north-northeastwards with a speed of 6 kmph during last 6 hours. The storm was located about 180 km west-southwest of Jakhau Port (Gujarat) at 5.30 am today. The storm was centered 210 km west of Devbhoomi Dwarka, 210 km west-southwest of Naliya, 290 km west-northwest of Porbandar, and 270 km south-southwest of Karachi.

Winds can run at a speed of 140 kmph at the time of landfall

By today evening, this storm can make landfall between Mandvi (Gujarat) and Karachi (Pakistan). At the time of landfall, its speed can be 125 to 140 kmph. According to the Meteorological Department, it is a very severe cyclonic storm. Due to this trees, small houses, mud houses, tin houses can be damaged.

High alert in 9 states including Gujarat-Maharashtra

9 states put on alert due to the cyclone including Gujarat, Maharashtra. All the agencies have made elaborate security arrangements. Every movement of the storm from Delhi, Mumbai, Gandhinagar is being monitored so that every situation can be dealt with when the time comes. Every agency has been linked to the Central Command.
