The number of instances of COVID in India has increased over the last several weeks, leading governments to reinstate certain restrictions and place more emphasis on measures to break the chain of transmission. India has recorded the most new Covid cases in a single day in over eight months with over 11,000 cases.

Delhi and Maharashtra, which yesterday reported 1,527 and 1,086 cases, respectively, are two of the states with the highest number of cases in India.
According to the director of Delhi’s LNJP Hospital, the number of Covid cases in the city would rise in the coming weeks.
According to a state government research cited in a TOI story, there have been 53 Covid deaths in Maharashtra since January, with patients who had comorbid conditions including diabetes and hypertension accounting for more than 58% of the fatalities.
In another Covid-related move, Uttar Pradesh’s Noida on Thursday released a series of suggestions that included using face masks at hospitals, shopping centers, workplaces, schools, and other public areas, as well as social distance. For individuals displaying flu symptoms, Noida administration also recommended working from home (WFH).

-The Covid Cases in India on Thursday
On Thursday, India reported 10,158 new cases of Covid and 19 fatalities. The increase of over 10,000 cases was the country’s biggest single-day total in over eight months, and Kerala was responsible for four of the 19 fatalities.
Data from the Union Health Ministry indicated that there were 44,998 active cases. Today’s data has not yet been made public.
The 19 more fatalities brought the virus’s death toll to 5,31,035 overall.
According to the statistics, there were nine fatalities from Maharashtra, two from Gujarat, one each from Delhi, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu, and four deaths that had been reconciled by Kerala.
The number of cases recorded on Wednesday was 10,158, which is a record high. 10,256 instances in all were noted on August 26 of last year. On Wednesday, 7,830 coronavirus cases were recorded in India.

On Thursday, Delhi reported 1,527 new cases of COVID and two fatalities. In Delhi, the positive rating was 27.77 percent.
The Thursday news states that one of these two deaths had Covid as the main factor, while the other involved Covid incidentally.
On Wednesday, April 12, the number of Covid cases in Delhi exceeded 1,000 for the first time in more than seven months, while the positive rate was 23.8%.
Delhi reported 1,964 cases on August 18 of last year, with a positive rate of 9.42% and eight deaths attributable to Covid.
One death and 1,086 new cases are reported in Maharashtra.
According to a health official, Maharashtra reported 1,086 Covid cases and one fatality on Thursday, bringing the total to 81,53,377 cases and the death toll to 1,48,471.
The state has now tallied more than 1,000 instances in a single day twice in a row. The state has 1,115 instances as of Wednesday.
According to the official, there were 274 instances in Mumbai, followed by 85 in Thane, 76 in Nagpur, 65 in Pune, and one fatality in Dhule.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Health Department on Thursday released a series of instructions about the usage of face masks and social distance in workplaces, educational institutions, shopping centers, hospitals, and other public areas in response to the growing number of Covid cases.
The recommendations for businesses include the use of sanitizers, adequate office cleaning, thermal temperature scanners at office entrances, and the ability for workers who exhibit symptoms of a cold, cough, fever, or flu to work from home with the suggestion that they undergo a Covid test.
The instructions were released as 114 additional positive instances of Covid were reported in the neighboring Delhi neighborhood of Gautam Buddh Nagar on Thursday, bringing the total number of active patients in Noida and Greater Noida to 396, the highest number so far this year, according to government statistics.
