The Prayagraj police have quadrupled the reward for the arrest of incarcerated criminal Atiq Ahmad’s wife, Shaista Parveen, in connection with the Umesh Pal murder case.

The prize money has been raised from Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000.

Shaista’s anticipatory bail motion was denied by the Prayagraj MP/ MLA court last week.

Shaista has been missing since she was designated as a suspect in the murder of Umesh Pal.

Umesh Pal was the key witness in the 2005 murder of BSP Lawmaker Raju Pal, and he was assassinated outside his Sulemsarai home on February 24th, along with two of his police gunners.

Previously, on April 6, the MP/MLA court denied Shaista’s anticipatory bail motion in connection with the case, citing the fact that Shaista was identified as an accused in the FIR.

As a result, given the facts, circumstances, and severity of the offense, anticipatory bail was denied.

“After boosting the financial prize, three special police teams have been assigned to tighten the noose around Shaista,” a senior police official stated. We have already produced a new dossier on Shaista since she is facing four criminal charges, including cheating and fraud. We have gathered vital information concerning Shaista’s whereabouts, and teams are working in this direction.”

Following the arrest of seven key associates of Atiq and the subsequent recovery of cash and weapons from his old office building in the city’s Chakia neighborhood, police have established Shaista’s role in the case and claim that she attended all of the meetings where the conspiracy to eliminate Umesh Pal was hatched.

Similarly, an offensive Atiq poster allegedly circulated on social media on Saturday. “Raat kitni bhi kali ho/ Savera zaroor hota hai,” the poster says.”
