Tragic Accident in Maharashtra’s Hingoli District Claims Four Lives and 150 Sheep
In a devastating incident early Thursday morning, a collision between two trucks in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district resulted in the loss of four lives and 150 sheep. According to the reports from news agency PTI, the mishap occurred at Malegaon phata on the Nanded-Kalamnuri road at approximately 4 am. Traffic movement along the route was disrupted temporarily due to the accident, as confirmed by a police official to PTI.
The collision took place when a truck transporting the sheep crashed into the rear of another truck carrying tiles, as stated by Kalamnuri police inspector Vaijanath Munde in his conversation with PTI. Tragically, all four fatalities were occupants of the truck transporting the animals, the official revealed.
Separately, a sorrowful incident on the Samruddhi Expressway in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad district claimed the lives of four individuals who were returning from a funeral on Wednesday. The victims, hailing from Surat in Gujarat, had traveled to Telangana to attend the last rites of a relative. While heading back in a multi-utility vehicle (MUV), the accident occurred near Karmad on the expressway around 3 am, according to an official statement to PTI.
The car struck the divider, leading to the unfortunate collision, explained the official from Karmad police station. Three individuals lost their lives instantly, while another succumbed to injuries during treatment. The deceased have been identified as Sanjay Goud (43), Krishna Goud (44), Shrinivas Goud (38), and Suresh Goud (41). Fortunately, the fifth person seated at the rear of the MUV survived the accident. The Karmad police have registered a case of accidental death in connection with the incident.
Sadly, since its inauguration in December 2022 until the end of April this year, a total of 39 fatalities and 143 injuries have been reported on the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway, as disclosed earlier by a senior police official.
