The White House announced on Tuesday that US Vice President Joe Biden would visit India from September 7 to September 10 to attend the G-20 Leaders’ Summit.

According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, President Biden and G20 partners will discuss a variety of coordinated initiatives to address global concerns, such as the transition to renewable energy and combating climate change, as well as reducing the economic and social effects of the Ukraine crisis.

The source noted that improving the ability of multilateral development institutions, such as the World Bank, to more effectively combat poverty, notably by tackling global concerns, would also be reviewed.

While he is in New Delhi, President Biden will also praise Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his G20 leadership and reiterate US support for the G20 as the foremost platform for economic cooperation, including by hosting it in 2026, Jean-Pierre said.
