The government website at gst.gov.in must be used to complete the online Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration procedure. Each dealer must register for GST if their annual sales reach Rs 20 lakh (or Rs 40 lakh or Rs 10 lakh, depending on the state and the kind of commodities). It should be noted that the GST REG-01 form must be completed by anybody registering for GST. Online submission of the GST REG-01 form is completely cost-free. There are two sections on this form: Part A and Part B. It is essential that Parts A and B be completed accurately in order for the GST registration to be successful.
Step-by-Step Guide for GST Registration
Step 1: Visit the GST website at https://www.gst.gov.in.
Step 2: Navigate to the’services’ area, where the registration button should be, and click it. Click the ‘new registration’ option after that.
Step 3: This is the GST REG-01 application form’s Part A. (The “I am a” area has a drop-down menu with several options. Taxpayer, tax deductor, tax collector (e-commerce), GST practitioner, and more options are available here.)
Step 4: Complete the required information on the same page, including State/UT, District, Legal Business Name (as it appears on the PAN), Permanent Account Number (PAN), Email Address, and Mobile Number.
Step 5: After that, the individual’s email address and cellphone number will each get a unique one-time password (OTP) from the GST site. Click the ‘Proceed’ button after all the necessary information has been input.
Step 6: A new page requiring the OTPs sent to the provided email address and cellphone number will display. Click “Continue” after the OTPs have been entered and verified.
Step 7: Subsequently, a new website will be shown. The temporary reference number (TRN) for the application will be shown on this website. (TRN is a 15-digit unique number that will be sent to both the applicant’s email address and cellphone number and will be valid for 15 days).
The GST REG-01 form’s Part A is now finished.
Step 8: This step introduces Part B of the GST REG-01 form. Individuals must use the services button (as mentioned in Step 1) to go back to the new registration page. A person must now click on “Temporary Reference Number (TRN)” and enter the number and captcha code. Then press the ‘Proceed’ button.
9. A fresh page will open. It will ask for an OTP, which will be sent to the user’s email and cell phone number. Click the “Proceed” button after entering the OTP.
Step 10: A new web page will appear and show the GST REG-01 form’s status as “draft.” This is because, up to this point, only Part A has been finished and Part B has not. On this page, there will be an additional button with the caption “Action.” After that, click it.
This is where Part B of the GST REG-01 form starts.
Ten pieces make up all of Part B. The client is responsible for providing all necessary information and documentation.
