Ajit Pawar, the leader of the opposition, said on Wednesday that the prolonged strike by state government workers has caused the health system in Maharashtra to collapse and has a negative impact on other vital services.
Pawar requested that the administration step in to put a stop to the uproar while speaking in the Legislative Assembly.
“The health system has fallen apart entirely during the last two strike days.
The H3N2 flu is becoming more frequent, and the strike is affecting everyday people. More than 150 operations are awaiting scheduling in a hospital. Due to the strike, the process of conducting panchnamas of (crop losses) caused by recent unseasonal rains has been put on hold “added he.
Pawar said that crucial services like administration, education, and health have suffered.
On Tuesday, thousands of government workers in Maharashtra went on strike in support of the Old Pension Program (OPS).
Employee groups had been informed by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde that a committee had been formed to evaluate the new and old pension plans, and he had pleaded with them to end their protest.
