Following a significant landslide in Ramban district, the crucial Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was stopped to traffic on Thursday, trapping more than 300 cars.
A landslide in Shalgari region in Ramban district closed the 270-km highway, the sole all-weather route connecting Kashmir with the rest of the nation, according to authorities.
Over 300 cars are stuck at several highway intersections, an official informed PTI.
The area is being cleared by workers, but an official stated that the persistent rain along the Ramban-Banihal sector was proving to be a challenge. They continued by advising people against using the roadway before getting permission from the traffic control units.
