Himanta Biswa Is Not A Peripheral Member Of The PM’s Clique. ‘Hussain Obama’ Controversy: Jairam Ramesh

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, is not a fringe figure; rather, he is in the centre of the PM’s inner circle, according to Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh, after Himanta’s ‘Hussain Obama’ statement received criticism from the opposition. Jairam Ramesh argued that PM Modi was not honest when he declared in the US that there is no religious prejudice in India, despite the opposition leaders’ claims that the Assam CM’s tweet really invalidated that claim.

It says, “Many Hussain Obama in India.”
“In India itself, there are countless Hussain Obamas. Prioritising their care should come before thinking about visiting Washington. The Assam police will conduct their operations in accordance with our own priorities, Himanta tweeted in response to a journalist who inquired as to if a FIR had been filed in Guwahati against Obama for ‘hurting feelings’. The journalist questioned, “Is Assam Police on its way to Washington to get Obama offloaded from some flight and arrest him?”

In a CNN interview, Obama brought up the subject of minorities in India and stated that if he were to speak with Prime Minister Modi, he would warn him that if the country’s ethnic minority’ rights are not upheld, it may begin to fall apart.

Obama’s statement was criticised by BJP vice president Baijayant Jay Panda, who called it “preposterous.”

“Powerful lobby is undermining the PMO,” says Pawan Khera
In response to Himata’s tweet, which made reference to Pawan Khera’s arrest by the Assam Police for calling Narendra Modi “Narendra Gautamdas Modi” rather than “Narendra Damodardar Modi” from a flight, Pawan Khera stated that it appeared as though a strong lobby within the BJP was seriously “sabotaging PMO.” Why else would the CM defy and humiliate the PM in less than a day? Pawan Khera tweeted.

Himanta Sarma ought to apologise for using the term “Hussain Obama”: NCP
Himanta was asked to apologise by the Nationalist Congress Party for his ‘crass’ remark. NCP spokesman Clyde Crasto said, “Either he (Sarma) did not listen to our PM Narendra Modi ji’s remarks made in the US, or he is disrespectfully rejecting what he said.
