Police said on Saturday that a 39-year-old accused human trafficker had been detained in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
According to them, the suspect has been identified as Vishal Singh, an Agra resident.
A case was opened at the Mayur Vihar police station on February 21, 2019, in response to a woman’s complaint over the whereabouts of her two kids.
A senior police official added that once the younger daughter was located, it was discovered that both of the girls had been abducted by a group of human traffickers and had been used for sexual exploitation in the Uttam Nagar neighborhood.
Four human traffickers — Naresh Shailesh Tamchikar, Raju Kumar, Shashi Mala, and Kiran — were detained after a case was filed based on the victim’s allegation under the appropriate sections of the IPC and POCSO Act, the officer added.
The older daughter was later located as well. According to authorities, a reward of Rs 50,000 had been set up for the capture of Singh, the main suspect.
Singh was sought after in two further instances in West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh in addition to this one.
He was traveling across India, Nepal, and Bhutan to avoid capture. According to Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav, he was later apprehended in Agra.
Singh said that he had been dodging arrest since 2019 and that he had been engaged in human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of girls, according to the police.
He planned a plot with his friends, forcing the victims into the flesh trade and using them as prostitutes and bar dancers to get money. Yadav said that he also used the females for sexual exploitation under the guise of marriage.
Additionally, it was discovered that his trafficking gang’s members held the two girls who were abducted in 2019 at Uttam Nagar, according to authorities.
In 2019, Singh paid his colleague Raju Kumar Rs 2 lakh for one of them, then transported her to Kolkata to pressure her into the flesh trade. Singh returned to Delhi in 2020 to purchase the second victim after leaving her in Kolkata, but Raju requested more money, so Singh did not purchase her, according to Yadav.
According to information provided to investigators, his family members are also engaged in human trafficking.
