If Sharad Pawar Topples The Government Then Diplomacy But Shinde Does Then It’s Dishonest?: Fadnavis

Accusing Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde of treachery, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has been reminded of the political developments of 1977 by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

He showed the mirror to NCP supremo Sharad Pawar that if he topples the government then diplomacy and if Shinde does it then how dishonest? In response to this, Pawar hit back and said, Fadnavis was younger then. That’s why they don’t know history.

Addressing a public meeting in Chandrapur on the completion of nine years of the Modi government, Fadnavis said, in 1978, Sharad Pawar walked out of the then Chief Minister Vasantdada Patil’s cabinet with 40 MLAs and formed the government in alliance with the Jana Sangh.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar said there was no discussion on the ‘prime ministerial post’ in the meeting of opposition parties held in Patna last week ahead of next year’s Lok Sabha elections. Pawar told reporters in Baramati on Monday that issues like price rise, unemployment and “deliberate attempts to incite communal elements” at some places came up for discussion in the meeting.

He also hit out at the ruling BJP for criticizing the meeting of opposition parties. He said why the BJP is worried about this meeting. He lacks political maturity. When Pawar was asked about critical comments being made that 19 prime ministerial aspirants were sitting together in the meeting, the NCP leader dismissed it as childish. He said that creating rift between communities on the basis of religion and caste is harmful for any society.
