In Nagpur, Maharashtra, a girl student hanged herself after being opposed for homosexuality. She wrote in her suicide note that I am sorry, I am homosexual, this society will not accept me. The student also wrote that later there will be many problems in marriage and I will not be able to live a happy life after marriage. Society will also oppose me.
The dead girl was only 18 years old. Police has recovered the suicide note. In this note, the girl has apologized to her family and said that everyone has the right to live life as per their wish. My family and society are opposing me because I am homosexual. It is not right to oppose homosexuality.
What is the whole matter?
Police say that the girl was studying in BA second year in a college in Nagpur. Her father works in a central government department and is originally from Uttar Pradesh. The family along with parents and younger brother lived in the ballast mine area of Nagpur. The girl realized that she was homosexual. She told her family about it. Her parents were horrified. The parents first scolded her and then the parents started monitoring her behavior. She was repeatedly counseled and tried to convince her.
The girl’s parents and brother had gone out when the incident took place. Meanwhile, the girl hanged herself with the help of a rope from the fan. When the family came home, she was found hanging. They took her to Mayo Hospital. However, by then it was too late. The doctors declared her dead.
