IMD Alert: Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ Can Cause Severe Devastation! Heavy Rain Warning In Gujarat-Maharashtra

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday said that the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (VSCS) “Biparjoy” over the east-central Arabian Sea is moving northwards and is likely to intensify further during the next 6 hours. It is very likely to intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm. According to the IMD, “Biparjoy” is likely to cause widespread devastation in India’s Gujarat and Rajasthan, including Pakistan, after moving northwards and intensifying into a very severe cyclonic storm on June 15. The storm is likely to reach near Saurashtra and Kutch coasts of Gujarat.

Can cause great destruction in Gujarat-Maharashtra

IMD tweeted on its official Twitter handle, “VSCS BIPARJOY today at 23.30 IST, near latitude 17.4N and longitude 67.3E, about 600 km WSW of Mumbai, 530 km southwest of Porbandar and 830 km south of Karachi The severe cyclonic storm is likely to reach Pakistan and adjoining Saurashtra and Kutch coasts on June 15.

On June 10, a cyclonic storm was laid over the same region near latitude 17.4°N and longitude 67.3°E, about 600 km west-southwest of Mumbai, 530 km south-southwest of Porbandar, from 20.23 hrs IST till 23.30 hrs IST. to the west, 580 km south-southwest of Dwarka, 670 km south-southwest of Naliya and 830 km south of Karachi.”

Red alert issued

The Severe Cyclonic Storm is very likely to intensify into an Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm during the next 06 hours and after moving nearly northwards, it is very likely to reach Pakistan and Saurashtra and Kutch coasts around the afternoon of 15th June 2023. There is a possibility.

Meanwhile, the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has issued a ‘red alert’ as the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (VSCS) Biparjoy continues to intensify over the east-central Arabian Sea. Pakistan-based News channel reported on Saturday that it was estimated to be about 900 kilometers south of the metropolis.

Alert issued for Rajasthan-Gujarat-Maharashtra

According to the Meteorological Department, due to cyclone ‘Biparjoy’, there may be rain in parts of Gujarat-Maharashtra Rajasthan on Monday. On June 14-15, southern and western parts of these states will likely record heavy rain activities. During this, there is a possibility of rain with thunder in the districts of Jodhpur and Udaipur divisions.

According to the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of an increase in the activities of thunderstorms in the state on May 16-17. Meanwhile, on Saturday, the heat wave continued in the state amid rains in Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and Churu districts of the state.
