On Friday, Cristiano Ronaldo, the star player in the league, scored twice in the course of 90 minutes as Al Nassr FC defeated Al Ahli in a thrilling 4-3 victory.
With goals from Frank Kessie, Riyadh Mahrez, and Firas Al-Buraikan, Al Ahli presented a test that Ronaldo and Anderson Talisca helped their team overcome.
After barely 4 minutes of play, Ronaldo, the top striker for Portugal, scored his first goal of the game with an assist from Sadio Mane.
Talisca scored after being set up by Aymeric Laporte in the 17th minute of the first stanza to give Al Nassr a two-goal advantage.
After Mohammed Al Majhad spotted his teammate, Al Ahli didn’t just sit back and watch the game; he reduced the deficit in half via Kessie, a former Barcelona player who made no mistakes in putting the ball over the goal line.
Talisca’s goal late into the first half’s extra time placed his side in the lead going into the half, but Al Nassr restored their two-goal advantage before the interval.
Mahrez, a former Manchester City player and triple winner, scored from the penalty spot in the game’s 50th minute to make it 3-2, but Al Nassr responded almost immediately by scoring via Ronaldo in the 52nd.
After the 65th minute, both managers made the decision to substitute many players in order to give fresh legs to their plans.
As he scored to make it 3-4 in the 87th minute, Al-Buraikan gave the game new life.
Al Ahli attempted to equalize before the referee blew his whistle to end the seven-goal thriller, but was unable.
Al Nassr earned all three points on the table and rose to sixth place in the standings with 15 points after 7 games. Due to the enormous gap in goal difference between Al Ahli and Al Nassr, who both have 15 points this season despite the defeat, they are placed sixth, one point below Ronaldo’s Al Nassr.
