Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut referred to Sharad Pawar as the “soul of Maharashtra politics” and compared his choice to the’resignation’ of Sena founder Bal Thackeray as Pawar declared his intention to stand down as the head of the NCP on Tuesday.

“Fed up by dirty Politics and allegations, Shivsena Supremo Balasaheb Thackeray too had resigned as the Shivsena Pramukh,” Raut said via Twitter. It seems that history has being repeating… But he was forced to reverse his decision due to Shivsainiks’ love for him.Pawar Saheb, like Balasaheb, is the political heart of the State.

Shiv Sena (UBT), a party of Raut, is a member of the Maha Vikas Aghadi, which also includes the NCP and the Congress. Pawar, who formed and has led the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) since 1999, shocked everyone on Tuesday by announcing his resignation as its leader. He announced it during the debut of his autobiography’s updated edition. Party members and leaders voiced their opposition to the news and urged the elderly leader to reverse it.

NCP leader Anil Deshmukh said that the state and the nation need “Pawar saheb” as he was in attendance at the conference in Mumbai where Pawar made his announcement. He told a Marathi TV station, “Everyone is insistent that Pawar saheb continue as the leader of the party (NCP) and we have encouraged him to reconsider his choice. Pawar, a four-time chief minister of Maharashtra who also held the positions of minister of defence and of agriculture for the federal government, played a key role in bringing together an unlikely alliance of the NCP, Congress, and the Shiv Sena, an ideological rival, to form the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government following the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections.
