At its 2023 annual brand conference in India, Volkswagen unveiled new iterations of the Taigun SUV and the Virtus sedan. These two items are also a part of Volkswagen Group’s India 2.0 initiative. The Performance Line lineup for the Taigun now includes the GT Plus MT and GT Plus DSG from the German automaker. These updated models will be equipped with the potent 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, TSI EVO engine, which produces 147 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque.
Volkswagen has previously only offered the GT Plus variant with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The GT grade, however, was limited to a six-speed manual transmission. Volkswagen has increased the choices available to SUV fans with the recent introduction of GT Plus MT and GT Plus DSG models. Volkswagen will offer two new color schemes even if the Taigun’s appearance hasn’t changed in the 2018 variants.
Volkswagen has added Deep Black Pearl to the GT Plus DSG version and Carbon Steel Grey in a matte finish to the GT Plus MT.
The German carmaker has, however, unveiled a new GT Plus MT version of the Virtus sedan. It’s interesting that this variation will only be offered with the brand-new Lava Blue exterior color. There will be a limited supply of each of the new exterior colors since they are all a part of the new GT Edge Limited Collection from the firm.
One of Volkswagen’s top-selling cars in India is the Taigun. The tiny SUV has been a well-liked choice in the SUV market because to its refined engine, better performance, dependability, and excellent pricing.
Volkswagen Taigun’s price ranges from Rs 11.62 lakh to Rs 19.06 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), making it competitive with vehicles like the Kia Seletto, Hyundai Creta, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
The Volkswagen Virtus sedan is also quite popular. It’s important to note that the Virtus car and Taigun SUV both have similar engine choices. The Virtus has a sophisticated interior and a well-built exterior. The sedan comes loaded with a wide variety of comfort and safety equipment, such as automatic air conditioning, ventilated seats, auto headlights, and cruise control. Currently, the sedan ranges in price from Rs 11.47 lakh to Rs 18.68 lakh.
