According to a statement provided by the White House, on Sunday, representatives from India, the US, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE worked to advance their shared vision of a Middle East region that is more safe, wealthy, and linked to both India and the rest of the globe.
According to the official summary, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval, his UAE colleague Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Saudi Prime Minister, and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia on Sunday in Saudi Arabia. The four delegations decided to continue their regular discussions and follow up on the issues raised all day.
The Crown Prince, Sheikh Tahnoon, and Doval met privately with the US NSA to address bilateral and regional issues. Sullivan said that he is eager to continue his discussions with Doval outside of the Quad Summit taking place later this month in Australia.
According to the White House summary, Sullivan discussed a number of other matters with Crown Prince Mohammed, highlighted major advancements in negotiations to further solidify the now 15-month-old ceasefire in Yemen, and applauded continued UN-led efforts to end the conflict.
Sullivan praised the Crown Prince for Saudi Arabia’s assistance in assisting US citizens fleeing Sudan.
In the meanwhile, the Iranian IRNA news agency said that NSA Doval recently spoke with his Iranian counterpart, Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
The most significant local, regional, and global happenings were reviewed by the two leaders, along with economic, political, and security matters involving the two nations.
