India is currently in a good position to meet and handle new difficulties and complexity, both internally and globally, the top diplomat of the nation said on Tuesday. Taranjit Singh Sandhu, India’s ambassador to the US, made the comments after the national flag was raised at India House in front of a sizable gathering of Indian-Americans.
“Since the time of independence, we have overcome great odds, and today, India stands tall as a shining example of democracy, and pluralism, and as a bright spot in the global economic landscape,” Sandhu said during a celebration of India’s Independence Day.
Our accomplishments and stature in the world are a result of the tireless labor of all of our residents, the fervor of Indian young, and the resolve of our political leadership. It is not surprising that India is now the third-largest IT startup market, the fifth-largest economy in the world, and that over 99% of Indians have a distinct digital identity, according to him.
“Every week, we build a new university, and every day, we build two new colleges. “India is well positioned to face and address emerging challenges and complexities, both locally and internationally, whether they pertain to agriculture, space, healthcare, or defense,” Sandhu added.
He said that India had advanced significantly on several fronts. It must continue to strive toward next-generation infrastructure, world-class manufacturing, cutting-edge innovation, and new-age technology in order to fulfill the ambitions of the younger generation.
“The US will be a vital partner in our journey as we reach new heights of wealth. “The India-US cooperation is now ‘one of the most significant ties’ in the world,’ he added, citing the leadership of Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi and President (Joe) Biden.
“The recent state visit by the prime minister to the US strengthened our ties of friendship and gave our collaboration new life. The variety of efforts that were unveiled during the visit covered every facet of human endeavor and served as a sign of the trust that exists between our two nations, according to Sandhu.
The 4.4 million-strong Indian population in the US, which includes 20,000 students, is a crucial component of the connection between India and the US, according to Sandhu. He stated, “Your talent, entrepreneurial spirit, and innovation serve to strengthen the relations between our two countries and contribute to the prosperity of both India and the United States.” The President of India’s address was shown after his speech.
