A smiling Dhoni demanded the Catch of the Match award at the presentation after the team’s win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 16th edition of the IPL. Dhoni said that despite taking great catches, he does not get the award. Just because he is a wicket-keeper, but it was not an easy catch. Narrating an interesting anecdote related to this, Mahi says, ‘Something similar happened a long time ago when Rahul Dravid was keeping. You cannot take such a catch with your skill. You have to stand for this.
In fact, during the match played between Chennai and Sunrisers Hyderabad last night, Dhoni showed tremendous agility behind the stumps. He did tremendous stumping against Mayank Agarwal or the catch of the opposing captain Aiden Markram on Tikshna’s ball. After defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets, Dhoni said, ‘What else to say. Now I have said something, this is the last phase of my career. After two years, fans have got a chance to come here and see. It’s nice to play here. The audience has given us a lot of love. Not getting much chance to bat, but no complaints. Here I was hesitant about fielding first because I thought there wouldn’t be much dew. Our spinners bowled well and so did the fast bowlers, especially Pathirana.
Ohter side Sunrisers captain Aiden Markram said, ‘It is never nice to lose, but the batsmen disappointed. We could not build good partnerships. 130 was not a good score on this wicket. We should have scored 160 runs.
