The death of well-known Jain monk Muni Kamkumar Nandi Maharaj was discussed on Monday (July 10), and Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara stated there was no need for a CBI investigation. He added that the police were striving to apprehend the culprits and that there was no discrimination going on in the case.
“The Police are seeking to apprehend the culprits as soon as possible and file charges. Legal action is a common practise. Discrimination is not a concern. After the event, the police responded right away to a report and started investigating. I spoke to the Jain monks in Hubli yesterday; they were observing a fast, the State Home Minister stated.
He said explicitly that the State police is capable of punishing the culprits and that there is no need for a CBI investigation in this instance. “We’ve heard their request for a CBI probe, and we’ve come to reassure them. The police department here is capable. There’s no need to give it to CBI, the man said.
The Minister added that the conclusion of the Department’s probe would be when the truth will become clear. It is not appropriate to level charges. There will be a lawsuit. He continued, “There is no pressure on the police; they are operating impartially.
The situation changed as a result of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi calling for the harshest penalties for the offenders. Additionally, he said that there was a suspicion among the populace that the murders were being shielded. Additionally, he said that the State was conducting the case’s investigations while engaging in appeasement politics.
“Sri Kamakumara Nandi Maharaj’s murder is strongly condemned. Even the identity of the accused was withheld at first. Locals were coerced into making accusations that the deceased monk had been involved in certain financial dealings. The idea that his spending habits contributed to his murder was tried to be introduced. The murderers’ protection is allegedly being suspected. This, in my opinion, is the pinnacle of appeasement politics. Karnataka Govt only started operating under pressure.
This is incorrectThe worst punishment should be meted out to the murderers, he urged.
The Muni, a member of the Digambar sect of Jainism, allegedly used to lend money, according to police officials who made the claim on Saturday (July 8). “Prima facie it appears that the monk was murdered for money-related matter,” the official continued.
The suspects, Narayana Basappa Madi and Hassan Dalayath, admitted to killing the monk and dropping his dismembered body into the borewell. According to sources, the BJP has also chosen to bring up the subject on Monday, June 10 in the Karnataka Assembly.
A tragic series of circumstances led to the gruesome death and alleged dismemberment of Muni Kamkumar Nandi Maharaj, a Jain muni (monk), on July 8. Since July 6, 2023, the victim has been missing. Two individuals who admitted to the crime were detained by the police in connection with it.
To try and find the monk’s body, the police are currently questioning them. The terrible occurrence took place at the Nandi Parvat Ashram, where the revered Jain Muni 108 Kamkumar Nandi Ji Maharaj had been living for 15 years, in the Chikkodi neighbourhood of the Belgaum district.
He presided over the Acharya Kamakumara Nandi Charitable Trust in the Belagavi district’s Hirekodi village, close to Chikkodi. His disciples were worried when he abruptly vanished on Thursday; they looked for him but couldn’t find him.
Concerns regarding the general status of law and order have been raised in Karnataka as a result of the violent murder of the Jain muni. The Congress party just assumed control of the state of Karnataka following a stunning victory in the legislative elections.
However, in the wake of this sad incident, concerns are being voiced regarding the competence and capacity of the recently established administration to uphold law and order.
