Chetan Singh, an RPF policeman, has been suspended from duty after he was accused of killing a coworker and three other passengers aboard a Jaipur-Mumbai Central Superfast Express. The authority claims that Singh has a history of at least three discipline-related offenses. On August 14, the Indian Railways issued a notice of suspension.
The RPF constable was put into 14 days of judicial jail on August 11 and is now being held at Thane Central Prison. He faces accusations under Section 153A of the IPC for hate speech in addition to murder, illegal restraint, and abduction.
On the B5 carriage of the train traveling from Jaipur to Mumbai, Chetan Kumar Choudhary allegedly argued with assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Tika Ram Meena, who was in charge of his escort duty. He murdered his coworker Tika Ram before moving on to another bogie and holding three passengers at gunpoint before killing them.
Hateful statements from an RPF policeman
Following an inquiry, the officer is said to have intimidated and coerced a lady passenger wearing a burqa into saying “Jai Mata Di” while holding a revolver to her head, according to the Indian Express. A crucial witness in the case has been identified as the lady. According to the complaint, the policeman reportedly instructed her to yell out “Jai Mata Di” louder.
An alleged video of the culprit, Chetan Kumar Singh, chatting to passengers while standing over one of the victims’ bodies had surfaced earlier. “Pakistan se operate hue hain, tumhari media, yahi media coverage dikha rahi hai hai, pata chal raha hai unko, sab pata chal raha hai, inke aaqa hai wahan,” he reportedly stated. According to a story by The Wire, “Modi aur Yogi, ye do hain, aur aapke Thackeray, toh mai kehta hoon, agar vote dena hai, agar Hindustan me rehna hai.”
(‘They have discovered, they know everything, and their leaders are there. They operate out of Pakistan, as shown by the country’s media. Modi and Yogi are the two to support if you want to vote and live in India, along with Thackeray.
Based on these footage and the testimony of passengers onboard the train, the video has been taken down from social media, but Chaudhary has also been charged for violating IPC Section 153A, which deals with hate speech.
