Kejriwal On The PM’s Arrogance On The Wrestlers’ Plan To Submerge Medals: Country Stunned

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, said on Tuesday that the proposal for the wrestlers to submerge their medals in the Ganga had “stupefied” the whole nation and that the prime minister “should shed arrogance.”

In order to protest BJP MP and Wrestling Federation of India leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who they claim sexually abused female wrestlers, the wrestlers had stated they would throw their medals into the Haridwar River. But when farmer representatives asked for five days to address the conflict, the wrestlers abandoned their threat.

Kejriwal posted a video of the wrestlers sobbing who were gathered along the banks of the Ganga in Haridwar, writing, “The whole nation is stupefied. The whole nation’s eyes are filled with tears. The prime minister should now let go of his haughtiness. Singh was the subject of two FIRs last month, but the police have not yet made an arrest.

The wrestlers were removed from the protest site by the Delhi Police on Sunday after they attempted to march to the newly inaugurated Parliament building on the same day they had been at Jantar Mantar since April 23 calling for the arrest of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for allegedly sexually harassing female wrestlers. They were held and then released.

The departing WFI president has denied the accusations levelled against him and said that, on the condition that the wrestlers do the same, he is prepared to submit to polygraph and narcoanalysis exams.
