Kumar Sanu Makes A Huge Statement, Saying Today’s Hindi Cinema Music Is “Not Worth Listening To”

On the occasion of his 35th anniversary in the music business, Kumar Sanu has made a significant declaration. When the king of melody was recently questioned about the kind of music he like, he stated that he enjoys songs by Lata Mangeshkar or Kishore Kumar. The artist continued by claiming that he does not listen to contemporary Hindi music since it is “not even worth listening to” in his opinion.

I like listening to vintage Lata Ji, Kishore Kumar, and Rafi songs. Like I have said, I try not to listen to my tunes. I also listen to a few English songs, but not any contemporary Hindi music. As they are not even worth listening to, neither do I, according to Kumar Sanu, who spoke to Indian Express.

The singer of Chura Ke Dil Mera also discussed how the music business has evolved over time and explained how actors used to never be there during the recording process in the past. He said that back then, there was “no interference” and no one told vocalists, “Do it this way or that way.”

This influence, according to Kumar Sanu, is a “huge concern,” and he said, “Today, everyone is interfering, whether they are an actor, producer, financier, or director. They instruct the musician, “You only create the tune, the rest will be done.” Yet previously, this wasn’t the case. Because of this, we would never communicate with the actor and we wouldn’t talk to them about how to sing it.

The 90s singer also noted how work was previously ‘clearly divided,’ with nobody attempting to complete another’s task. He said, “If Nadeem-Shravan is producing the music, it would be wonderful. If Kumar Sanu is singing, he will do a terrific job. The division shows creators have faith in vocalists. That assurance is no longer present. Nowadays, 8–10 vocalists perform the same song; they are unsure of which version will be kept or which is the best. Under this circumstance, it is exceedingly challenging to identify as a vocalist.
